Open studios tours are a good way to experience art and artists. Every first Friday evening of each month you can take a free self-guided tour of downtown Phoenix galleries, studios and art spaces. It's called First Friday. First Friday is organized by Artlink, a nonprofit organization "...dedicated to bringing together artists, the public, and businesses for a greater understanding, appreciation, and promotion of the arts and the development of a strong and vital downtown Phoenix arts community."
Tonight Jen, Fil and I went to The First Friday Art Walk. I have been to this event before but had such a great time this time! It is amazing to see how many people come out and support or contribute to this event. People just set up and show off their art or jewelry and can sell them or just be on display.

There are bands outside of peoples homes.
Art galleries are in peoples homes. It is crazy to think that people open up their homes to people to walk through to view the art that they are displaying.
